Santorini, one of the most treasured and popular islands of the Aegean, is a fascinating destination with its historical structure and, above all, its natural beauty. When thinking of the Greek islands, Santorini is often the first that comes to mind, with its iconic blue-domed houses, luxury white hotels overlooking the caldera, and breathtaking sunsets. It is considered the most romantic island of the Cyclades archipelago. Santorini's crescent-shaped geography is surrounded by towering cliffs, with the gulf in front of these cliffs known as the Caldera. What makes Santorini so special is that almost every village and hotel offers stunning views of this magnificent landscape. Watching the sunset from the tip of Oia is a tradition, and you will be captivated by the beauty of this romantic island. History and architecture enthusiasts should also visit the Blue Dome Church, the Catholic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Archaeological Museum of Thera, and the Oia Castle. Additionally, Santorini is famous for its beautiful beaches along the Aegean Sea, such as the Red Beach, Kamari Beach, and Perissa Beach. The ship will depart from the port at 9:00 PM. Located in the Italian region of Campania, Naples and Pompeii are famous for housing the ruins of Pompeii, Europe’s most intriguing archaeological site. Pompeii, an ancient Roman city, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a must-visit for history and archaeology enthusiasts. The ruins of Pompeii are located near present-day Naples, and visitors can explore major landmarks such as the Amphitheater, Grand Palestra, House of the Vettii, House of the Faun, Forum, Temple of Apollo, Via dei Sepolcri (Street of Tombs), Lupanar (an ancient brothel filled with erotic frescoes), House of the Faun, the Ancient Hunt, the Basilica, Granary Works of the Forum, Baths, House of the Tragic Poet, Cat’s Eyes, and the Villa of the Mysteries. You can also take a train to Naples, the birthplace of pizza, where popular pizzerias are just a few blocks from the train station. From Civitavecchia’s port, you can reach the city of Rome in about 1 hour and 15 minutes by bus. Once in Rome, you’ll be able to see landmarks such as Castel Sant'Angelo, the Tiber River, Borghese Park, Via Veneto, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Nazionale, Teatro Marcello, and the Circus Maximus. You’ll also have time to explore the famous squares of Rome on foot, including the Pantheon Square, Piazza Navona, the Fountain of Love, and the Spanish Steps, which are highly recommended. For those who prefer to stay in Civitavecchia, the city’s name, meaning "old town" in Latin, is fitting, as it is home to many historic ruins and ancient sites. Guests should first visit the Terme Taurine (Thermal Baths), and can also explore Michelangelo Castle and the Cathedral of San Francisco. The ship will depart from the port at 5:00 PM.
